This End Credits sequence was created for Mariposas de la Eternidad, a student short directed by visionary VFX artist Veronica Ramírez. I’m proud to have designed, directed, and animated the end credits, where butterflies and flowers become visual metaphors of life and death, beauty and sorrow.
Rooted in the magical realism of Gabriel García Márquez and Latin American storytelling, this sequence transforms a title card into a symbolic echo of Colombia’s six-decade conflict—and a tribute to hope, memory, and resilience.
PRE-PRODUCTION
Inspired by the aesthetics and sensitivity of magical realism, the end credits aim to extend the poetic atmosphere of the film, a lyrical and profound reflection on the invisible wounds left by the armed conflict that Colombia has endured for more than six decades.
Butterflies and flowers—central elements in this sequence—become dual symbols: of life and death, beauty and pain, reality and metaphor. This piece draws inspiration from the work of Gabriel García Márquez and his ability to intertwine the everyday with the fantastic, the harsh with the sublime, paying tribute to resilience, memory, and hope.
